Sama Dubai project names steering committee members

VietBusinessNews - Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has agreed to set up a state steering committee (SSC) to oversee a project to create a special economic zone in central Phu Yen province, which is backed by the Sama Dubai Group from the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Under the PM’s decision, Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Sinh Hung will act as the SSC’s head, while National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu, Deputy PM Hoang Trung Hai and Minister of Planning and Investment Vo Hong Phuc are to be named as deputy heads of the committee.

The committee will be made up of 18 additional members, most of whom are deputy ministers, as well as the vice chairman of the Phu Yen provincial People’s Committee.

The SSC will be responsible for instructing and supervising the relevant ministries and authorities in implementing the project.

It will also make proposals to the Government, Politburo and National Assembly regarding specific aspects of the project and make recommendations regarding the project’s policies. (VNA)
