Many other companies also began their business on the eighth day of the Lunar New Year, the year of the ox.

General Director of Asia Commercial Bank’s Real Estate Trading Floor (ACBR) Pham Van Hai said that the eighth day of the Lunar New Year was an auspicious day which promised prosperity for business in the year. Hai said that ACBR, which opened again yesterday, was supported by the God of Luck. A lot of orders came in yesterday, which has made Hai cherish the hope that the good beginning to the year will bring luck to ACBR for all of 2009 despite the big difficulties of the real estate market.

Hoang Quan Company’s Director Truong Thai Son also restarted his business yesterday. Son revealed that yesterday he received an order on assessing the value of a school and a high-rise building project. The clients proved to be generous as they paid money right on the company’s re-opening day.

Workers and employees have been hurriedly coming back to HCM City to return to their jobs. A lot of Chinese-owned shops in Kim Bien and Binh Tay markets, and petty merchants in district 5 of HCM City performed religious worship yesterday, declaring their businesses restarted.

The owner of a shop on Chau Van Liem street in HCM City invited unicorn-lion dancers for the re-opening ceremony. He said that the best hours to reopen a business were in the morning or midday.
