During the first nine months of 2008, the after-tax profit of KBC was 462.393 billion dong. Therefore, the company lost more than 189 billion dong in the last quarter.
Up to December 31, 2008, total assets of KBC were estimated at nearly 4.481 trillion dong, increasing 48.7% over the previous year while its ownership capital reached over 2.724 trillion dong including the capital surplus of 1.389 trillion dong.
Earlier, the company's shareholders' meeting passed a plan of issuing bonus shares and paying 2008 dividend in shares to the existing shareholders according to the ratio of one new share for two shares held. KBC will issue bonus shares to existing shareholders with the ratio of 30% and pay a 20% dividend.
Also, the company will separately offer 20 million shares at 10,000 dong par with total offering value of 200 billion dong to about 100 investors for increase in the chartered capital.
Ending the trading session February 3, KBC stood at 42,400 dong with capitalisation of 5.685 trillion dong.
